This is a One-Time-Code system.
The link or code can only be used ONE TIME then it is removed, and you have to request a new one.
A code becomes invalid after too many failed attempts or if too much time has passed since it was issued.
If you have repeated failures it is probably because you are not entering the very latest code that was sent to you. Slow down. Do it carefully. Do it one time.
If this sign-in method often gives you problems then you can set up a password or enter your phone number (so we can text the code to you). You have to sign in successfully once and go to your Settings screen to configure these.
